Still no cure for…what????
American researchers are about to start human testing a possible cure for cancer…ALL cancer. Scientists at Wake Forest have discovered a technique that cured cancer in 100% of mice. Obviously, this doesn’t always translate well to humans but even if they’re only half successful this is wonderful news.

Police Union Standing By Mexican Militia Reports
Phoenix police are reporting that the men captured were going to attack the police but ran out of ammunition. Even worse, at least one of them was a member of the Mexican Army. Basically, Mexico invaded the US.

Ah, Chicago
Sometimes it really does seem like good deeds really don’t pay off, from the Windy City:
A trained nurse, Rachelle Jackson immediately ran toward the sound of the crash. A Chicago police car had collided with another vehicle and was starting to smoke, two officers still inside. Fearing an explosion, she quickly pulled one officer from the passenger side.
You’d think she’d get some sort of award or maybe a press conference and the thanks of the police and the mayor. You’d be wrong.
Soon after, police approached Jackson and told her that the driver’s weapon had been stolen. When she was asked to go to the police station for questioning, she thought it was as a witness to the accident.
Instead, Jackson was accused of the theft. She was held for two days with little food and water and was threatened with violence until she agreed to sign a statement police had prepared for her. She was then charged and spent more than 10 months in the Cook County Jail awaiting trial.
Fortunately the judge had to good sense to throw the case out but she sued the city and won $7.7 million. It’s too bad the courts couldn’t sentence some of these goobers to a kick in the butt, too.
