Here in Nashville we have some free rag called the Nashville Scene. It includes some local news and commentary but most people just get it for movie, play, and music times (and they sometimes screw those up). They are a pretty liberal bunch and they don’t especially hide it, which is fine – it’s their paper and they can do what they want but they at least should havesome sense, right?
After reading this last night, I just had to comment on what this idiot said.
He rails against Representative Marsha Blackburn about her visit to ANWR. The Scene has hated Blackburn ever since she was instrumental in defeating a state income tax which was absolutely necessary. We didn’t get one yet somehow the sky stayed intact and the state managed to get more revenue. Go figure…
Now she’s in Congress and wanted to go see the ANWR. In her words, “The nearest mountain is 30 miles away and the nearest tree is 70 miles past that”.
The writer’s response – “Actually congresswoman, there’s stuff (stuff???? Is that a journalistic term? – me) in the wildlife refuge (hence the name “wildlife”)…Wildlife is sometimes hard to find…The Arctic isn’t like Brentwood, where the Starbucks and the nail salon and everything is within driving distance in your SUV”.
Seriously??? This is your response. First, note the rich-hating dripping from the writer’s response. Secondly, am I supposed to take the word of a writer (whose name wasn’t even included with the column) who probably didn’t go over a member of Congress who actually did?
I assume this person’s journalistic degree comes from the university of “The Check Cleared”

Please. You should know from reading The Scene that the check didn’t have to clear.
Every town has those kind of papers they are all worthless unless you want the movie or concert listings. The “journalism” is always terrible and nothing but poorly written opinion pieces.
